MANKATO — Investigators are hoping someone can provide more information about two incidents targeting a family living in Celestine Circle, a dead-end street near Kennedy Elementary School.
After a cat woke someone living at the house at 1:46 a.m. today, the family discovered the garage had been broken into and two cars inside had been spray painted. The paint on both cars also had been scratched.
Investigators believe this morning’s incident is connected to a fire reported at the same home on June 17. Smoke alerted the family to a fire in a window. A liquid fuel had been used to start the fire.
“These actions are certainly concerning and more than just a punctured tire,” said Cmdr. Deb McDermott of the Mankato Police Department. “We believe there are more people out there who know more.”
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Mankato Department of Public Safety at 387-8770.
