Heat retreats, just in time for Fun Days parade

It’s a lot easier to enjoy a parade when the heat and humidity have come down from the near apocalyptic levels southern Minnesota experienced last week. Heat indexes cresting 110 degrees have made simply sitting outside a sweat-inducing event.

Fortunately, temperatures for Saturday’s North Mankato Fun Days parade barely reached into the 80s and the humidity levels were much less tropical.

Kids were able to run for candy without needing to find a water station after each trip and the two-hour parade felt more like a nice summer afternoon and less like running a marathon.
