NEW PRAGUE —
NEW PRAGUE — Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague and Immanuel St. Joseph’s — Mayo Health System have agreed to enter into exclusive discussions aimed at formalizing a long-term relationship between the two organizations.
“We have already begun meeting with leaders from Immanuel St. Joseph’s on scenarios that would improve the access, availability and scope of care to our patients. These talks will increase over the course of the next few months,” George Winn, chair of the Queen of Peace Board of Directors said in a statement.
While preliminary discussions have taken place over the past few months, the parties agreed to pursue a long-term relationship following an extensive review of several health care systems by the Queen of Peace Hospital Board.
“We want patients to be able to receive the vast majority of their high-quality health care locally, and we think we can offer a lot to the community,” Dr. Greg Kutcher, president and CEO of ISJ, said.
Queen of Peace is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and Level III Trauma Center. The organization serves a patient base of 60,000 in Scott, Le Sueur, Rice, and Sibley counties. Established in 1952, Queen of Peace has been accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) since 1966.
