MANKATO — The Minnesota Association of School Administrators has named the Mankato Area Public Schools superintendent as an Administrator of Excellence.
Sheri Allen will be honored for her leadership, concern for students, and active involvement in professional and community affairs at a statewide recognition ceremony at the MASA/MASE Spring Conference March 14-15 in Brooklyn Park. Nine administrators are being honored.
Allen has served as the superintendent for the Mankato district since 2009.
Allen is an active member in MASA, the American Association of School Administrators and the Minnesota School Boards Association. She also works with the Educare Foundation, the Greater Mankato Early Learning Initiative, and is seated on the Southwest Region Mayo Health Systems Board of Directors.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Winona State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Hamline University, and is pursuing her doctorate from MSU.
Each year, MASA recognizes members for their contribution to public education. MASA is a professional organization of Minnesota’s school leaders, including superintendents, assistant superintendents, directors of special education, and other central office administrators, as well as state department administrators, college, and university professors, and other educators throughout Minnesota dedicated to educational leadership for students.
