MANKATO —
Kayakers paddling down the Blue Earth River aren’t an unusual sight, especially on a beautiful summer day. The paddlers that took to the river Saturday, though, were spending the day on the river for a cause as part of Paddle Jam.
The all-day paddle and music festival, organized by Bent River Outfitter, raised money for river cleanup efforts in the Blue Earth County river valley. Organizers put together two paddles, a 4-hour trip from the Judson landing and a 1-hour trip to Riverfront Park from Sibley Park.
Riverfront Park was the destination for both groups for music by bands like Jon Wayne & The Pain, The Yonketonk Band and Useful Jenkins.
