ST PETER — A one-year jail sentence was stayed for Anne Stensrud, a former KEYC anchor, who pleaded guilty to a third-degree driving while intoxicated charge in March.
She had been scheduled to be sentenced in May, but the hearing was delayed until Friday. Stensrud was ordered to pay a $1,015 fine, refrain from using alcohol and folow treatment recommendations from the Burkwood Tratment Center and Hazelden as conditions of her two-year probation term.
Stensrud, 28, was arrested Dec. 21 on Highway 14 in North Mankato and charged with one gross misdemeanor count and two misdemeanor counts of drunken driving. She had a blood-alcohol concentration of .31, well over three times the legal limit of .08 for driving.
Two weeks prior to her arrest, a video of Stensrud stammering through a Sunday night newscast gained national attention. That newscast marked her last on-air appearance at the North Mankato station.
