Authorities say a police chase through three Minnesota counties that ended with a fatal crash is likely related to a homicide in Austin.
Police were called to a residence in Austin about 3 a.m. Friday by a neighbor who heard calls for help and saw a person on the ground in front of the home. Responding officers found the person was dead and spotted a red
Saab speeding away.
Officers pursued the vehicle through Mower, Freeborn and Waseca counties with speeds exceeding 130 miles per hour.
Deputies put down stop sticks on Highway 13 near Waseca and the Saab's driver lost control. The vehicle rolled into a field, the driver was ejected and died at the scene.
The investigation into both incidents continues.
