CHICAGO — Most area lakes barely have a crust of ice on them, but fish house owners itching to show off their new ice castle came out to St. Peter’s fish house parade Saturday.
Organizers of the free parade, now in its third year, were aiming for 50 entrants, hoping to best the 33 in last year’s parade. Participants didn’t necessarily have to have an elaborate fish house to participate. Many simply put their portables on a trailer.
There were also prizes for best custom fish house, best holiday decorations and entry with the most “Stormy Kromer” hats (the official hat of the parade).
