MANKATO —
The Mankato Marathon has put out the call for 1,000 volunteers to help with this year’s event.
The Oct. 20-21 race will be held on a Saturday and Sunday this year, a departure from the Friday, Saturday format the first two years of the event.
Volunteers are needed for course marshaling, bicycle medical support, race-bag stuffing and other tasks. Those interested can call 507-385-6660 or email pschuette@greatermankato.com.
The Mankato Marathon, produced by the Greater Mankato Convention & Visitors Bureau, is projected to attract 5,000 runners this year. The accredited race is also a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon.
