MAPLETON — Geneil Kay Kopischke, age 62, of Mapleton, died on Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton with Rev. Robert Kleinke officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home in Mapleton. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, Transplant Organization of Rochester, or to St. John's Lutheran Church.
Geneil was born on September 10, 1947 in Mankato to Stuart and Irene (Johnson) Cumming. She graduated from Mapleton High School. On March 18, 1967 Geneil was united in marriage to Douglas Kopischke. She worked for the Mapleton Schools for many years and was currently employed with Carlson-Tillisch Eye Clinic.
Geneil enjoyed cross stitching, her flower gardens, and her grandchildren. She loved going to all of her grandchildren's activities. She was an inspiration to many.
She is survived by her husband Douglas of Mapleton; two daughters, Kris Kopischke (Tom Crull) and their son Will of Minnetonka and Jodi (Mark) Hicks and their children J.D. and Hallie of Mapleton; mother Irene Cumming of Mapleton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Loren and Larry Cumming.
