Jerry D. Marquardt, age 65 of Janesville died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Eagle Lake Church of Christ with Rev. Virgil Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, June 27th at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one prior to the service at the church Thursday.
Jerry David was born on August 29, 1946 in Benson, MN to Julius and Helen (Zielsdorf) Marquardt. On March 23, 1968 he was united in marriage to Beverly Compton at the Eagle Lake Church of Christ. During his life, he was employed by the Free Press, Clements Auto of Mankato and with Blue Earth County Hazardous Waste. Jerry enjoyed fishing, setting up at flea markets, camping, working on cars and going to auto races and will always be known as "Papa" by his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverly of Janesville; children: Tami of Mankato and Daniel (fianc Margaret Stevens) of Janesville; three grandchildren: Chantel, Chandra and Chandelyn; siblings; Bob (Sharon) and Sharon Guerrero both of Mankato, JoAnn Montes of Brownton, MN and Karen Marquardt of El Centro, CA; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dustin, and two sisters: Colleen and Linda.
