Alice M. (Anderson) Smith

  Alice M. (Anderson) Smith, 86, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday July 17, 2012 at Harmony River Nursing Home in Hutchinson.  Memorial service will be 11:00 Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Willmar, MN.  Interment will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar, MN.

  Alice was born August 28, 1925 in Darwin to John and Minnie (Uphoff) Anderson.  ON July 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Luvern E. Smith at St. Lukes Episcopal Church.  Prior to her marriage she worked as a grocery clerk.  She was a housewife and loved spending time with her family.

  In her leisure time Alice enjoyed reading, camping and traveling.  She was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild and was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

  Alice is survived by son, Larry (Jackie) Smith of Hutchinson; daughter, Linda (Tim) Leopold of Galesville, WI; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Warren  Anderson of Willmar and Roy (Harriet) Anderson of Coon Rapids; son in-law, Robert Minzel of Mankato; and twelve nieces and nephews.

  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Minzel; son, Douglas Smith; husband, Luvern; parents; two sisters; brother; grandson, and one grandson in-law.
