Lois 'Michael' Landsteiner

— Lois "Michael" Landsteiner passed away on Sunday , July 15, 2012, at the Forrest Hill Nursing Home in Moline IL.  She was 77.  

  Lois was born in Hill City Kansas on October 25, 1934 to Ivan and Wilda Michael and moved to the town of  Mapleton MN at the age of 3.  She graduated Mapleton High School in 1951 and moved to Mankato MN  to attend Mankato Commercial College.   She married Robert John Landsteiner in 1953. They had 6 children, Robert Jr., Steve, Kevin, Keith, Lisa and David.  She had several careers during her lifetime, secretary, Life Insurance saleswoman, where she achieved Prudentials Million Dollar Round table.  She went on to sell real estate for Century 21 and was a top saleswoman several times.  She moved to Davenport Ia. in 1983 to open a small string of gift and collectible stores called Memories in Pewter in and around the Quad Cities which her and her husband Bob operated for almost 23 years.  She loved friends, family and being a small business woman.  She was a volunteer at the Kahl Home in Davenport IA  and a member of the Davenport Chamber of Commerce.   Her business was her hobby, although she enjoyed reading ,camping, horses, travel, boating  and puzzles . She always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone she met.  

  Lois is preceded in death by her son, Robert Jr., her sister Doris Adams, and her parents, Wilda and Ivan.   

  She is survived by her husband Robert, sister Lorene Anderson of Mankato MN.  and brother Loren Michael of Mapleton MN.  Sons, Steve Landsteiner and wife Diane of Gillette WY, Kevin Landsteiner of Billings MT, David Landsteiner  and wife Jean of Indian Hills, CO, Keith Landsteiner and daughter-in-law Julie of Davenport, IA, and daughter Lisa Herrity and husband Brian of Mankato, MN. Lois also had  8 grandchildren, Katie, Wade, Sarah and Samuel Landsteiner, Patrick, Haley and David Forsyth and Maggie and Elizabeth Herrity. She also had two great-grandchildren Larrisa and Aleyeah.

  Burial of her ashes will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Mapleton, MN on Saturday, August 4th at 10:30 a.m. and  a celebration of her life afterwards  at Daley Park, Mapleton, MN  at 12:30. May God welcome you into his arms.  You will be missed.
