Katherine D. 'Kathy' Doring

—   Katherine D. Doring, age 90, of Mankato, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society  -Stillwater.

  Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato.   Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

  Katherine was born December 20, 1921 to Ralph L. and Dorothy A. (Bell) Brown in Star Prairie, WI.  She was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith on April 10, 1941 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in New Richmond, WI. Katherine married Marvin A. Doring on June 7, 1942 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, New Richmond, WI.

  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the church choir, the auxiliary, and the study guild.  She was a past extension leader.  Katherine enjoyed music, decorating, floral design, and sewing.

  Katherine is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Ronald) Melcher of Hugo, MN; two sons, Gary (Ursula) Doring of Oakland, CA and Greg Doring of Mankato; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jeannette (Orville) Rivard of New Richmond, WI; nieces and nephews.

  Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin in 2003; son, Larry Doring; a granddaughter, Rachel Campbell; sister, Mae Stalker; and brother, Ralph Brown.
