Larry Alan Krueger


—   Larry Alan Krueger, age 61, of Eagle Lake, MN, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Albert Lea, MN. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012

at Epiphany Lutheran Church, at 11:00 AM in Eagle Lake, MN. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM

on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Pastor Mary Iverson will officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN is in charge of arrangements.

  Larry was born on May 26, 1951 in Albert Lea, MN to Harry and Margaret (Drommerhausen) Krueger. He was baptized at Pickerel Lake Concordia Lutheran Church in rural Albert Lea, MN and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN. He was united in marriage to Sandy K. Walk on June 28, 1975 at St Theodores Catholic Church in Albert Lea, MN.

    Larry spent his early life on the home farm in rural Albert Lea. In 1963 his family moved to Wells where his parents owned and operated the Golden Bubble Steakhouse and Ballroom. During his high school years he spent many hours working at the Bubble. He graduated from Wells High School in 1969 and Mankato State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in History in 1973, and Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute with a degree in Accounting in 1979. After College he started work at Queen Products. From there he went to ITT Thorp Corporation both in Albert Lea. He was transferred to Mankato with Thorp. In 1979 he started working in the accounting field at Ben Deike Transfer and Storage in Mankato. In 1988 he moved to Northern States Power Co. and worked in the accounting department there until 1998 when he went to ESV Region V Computer Services helping various area school districts with their accounting systems. In 2000 he started work for the Le Sueur- Henderson Independent School District as the payroll clerk. From 2002 until present time Larry has been working in the accounting/payroll and benefits department for District 77 Mankato School System.

  Larry loved spending time with Sandy, the love of his life. He had and amazing memory and a great love for history, whether he was reading, watching the History Channel, or touring historical sites. He also enjoyed bowling on the Blue Earth County League with partners Kari and John, as well as playing like a kid with his grand-nieces and nephews. Larry will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers.

  Larry is survived by his wife Sandy Krueger of Eagle Lake, brother James (Sandy) of Fort Myers Beach, FL, sisters, Karen (Charles) Erickson of Alden and Cynthia (Wallace) Koepke of Racine, WI; mother-in-law Vera Walk, brother-in-law Jeff Walk (Yvonne Forsythe) all of Jacksonville, NC; nieces and nephews, Brandi Rowe and her son Tyler of Elk Hart, IN, Brian (Jill) Krueger and their children Kyle, Alexa, and Saige of Brighton, CO, Jeff (Ann) Erickson and their children Madison Mikenna, and Ryker of Alden, Jacque (James) Sorenson and their children Jacob, Isaac, Levi, and Caleb of Alden, Kim (Chris) Jenson and their children Travis and Alyssa of Clarks Grove, Dan (Jenny) Erickson and their children Grace, Tyler, and Karina of Alden; uncle and aunts, Hazel Krueger of Albert Lea, Loren (Dorothy) Krueger of Rochester, and Darlene Britson of Racine, WI; as well as many cousins and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Don Walk, niece Julie Krueger and many aunts and uncles.
