—   Francis A. Zimmerman, age 83, of Cleveland, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society in St. Peter.

  Visitation will be held at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Cleveland Lutheran Cemetery in Cleveland.

  Francis was born on July 11, 1928 in Cordova Township to Albert and Irene (Holicky) Zimmerman. He was united in marriage to Mildred (Langhoff) Zimmerman on August 17, 1954. He lived in Le Sueur County his entire life and worked as a farmer.

  Francis was a member of the German-Jefferson Sportsman Club, Le Sueur County Fair Board, Cleveland School Board, an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council. He received the 2000 Le Sueur County Outstanding Senior Citizen award. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grand-children and friends, fishing, baseball, dancing and playing cards.

  Francis is survived by his wife, Mildred; children, Barbara Bacon of Richfield, LeAnn (and Bill) Sexe of Le Center, Janet (and Rick) Prososki of St. Peter, Alan (and Julie) Zimmerman of Cleveland, Brian (and Pam) Zimmerman of Cleveland, and David (and Carolyn) Zimmerman of Le Center; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, siblings Elnora Oliver, Phillip Zimmerman, Alice Ely, Annabelle Eichhorst, George Zimmerman and many nieces and nephews.

  He is preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law Richard Bacon.
