Fern Velma Klampe

—   Fern Velma Klampe, age 86 of Waseca died on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca.

  Born on September 20, 1925, in Waseca, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Fred and Etta (Davis) Born. She attended school in rural Waseca County. She was employed at Gambles in Waseca before marrying Marvin Klampe on May 31, 1952, at her parents' home in Waseca. After getting married, they lived and farmed in Waseca County and Fern worked for a short time at the E.F. Johnson Co. She loved to bake, cook, sew and do embroidery work. She also loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. Fern was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca and the church circle.

  She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (David) Richtsmeier and Carol (Terry) Jewison all of Waseca; four grandchildren, Wendy, Michael, Nicholas, and Benjamin; and three great grandchildren, Jessica, Stanley, and Oriana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers  Lester and Allen Born, and 2 sisters- Mable Schunke and Faith Swenson.

  Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. and continue on Thursday, one hour before services at the church.

  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Jon Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Wilton Cemetery in Waseca County.
