Hazel Schiltz

— Hazel Schiltz, 97, of Mankato, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Pathstone Crossing.  Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday December 28, 2012 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato with Father John Wilmot officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 27, 2012 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

  Hazel was born October 15, 1915 to Clark and Anna (Jepsen) Godden in Burt,

IA.  On January 8, 1936 she was united in marriage to Raymond Schiltz at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft, IA.  In her free time Hazel enjoyed quilting, growing moss roses and flowers, gardening, and playing cards and bingo.  She was a member of quilting groups and Ladies Aid.

  She is survived by son, Denis Schiltz of Montclair, CA; daughters, Barbara (Thomas) Sullivan of Mankato and Patricia (Daniel) Wilder of Overland Park, KS; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Lester Godden of Mason City, IA; sisters, Rosella Godden of Algona, IA and Arlene Troup of Boulder City, NV; and many nieces and nephews.

  Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Schiltz; daughter, Sharon Beemer; granddaughter,  Deonna; one brother and three sisters.
