David Larry Briese

—  David Larry Briese, age 65, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

  David was born October 28, 1947, in Bismarck, ND, to George and Martha (Nerby) Briese. He was united in marriage to Cathy Fortney on June 16, 1973, in Mankato. The couple made their home in Mankato and raised their four children. David enjoyed hunting, hiking, reading, playing cards, and bowling.

 David is survived by his wife of 39 years Cathy; four children, David Allen (Lisa) Briese of Webster City, IA, Charlene Louise Briese of Waseca, Gaile Suzanne (Daniel) Schwickrath of Platteville, WI, George Albert (Mistee) Briese of Eagle Grove, IA; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Cole, Ryan, Alejandra, Walter, George, Nicolle, and Justyn; brother, Dennis (Janice) Briese of Bismarck, ND; sister, Diane Forester of Washington State.

  Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrel; sister, Donna.
