Jeri (Bergner) Escher

  Jeri (Bergner) Escher, age 60, of Garden City, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

  A memorial gathering will be Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 3 to 6 P.M. at the Wellcome Complex Gym in Garden City with a Rosary and vigil service beginning at 6 P.M.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M., Monday, December 31, 2012, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Vernon Center.  Burial in St. Matthew Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Jeri to an organization of the donor's choice.  

  Jeri Kay was born on September 3, 1952, to Lyle and Donna (Lupkes) Bergner in Alexandria, MN.  She was a graduate of New Richland-Hartland High School and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota-Morris.  Jeri was united in marriage to Dwayne Escher on July 22, 1972, in Morris, MN.  Jeri began teaching at Wellcome Memorial High School, which later became Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial High School, where she taught and coached for 32 years.  She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Vernon Center, the Minnesota State High School League, MCCL and Birthright.  Jeri's greatest joy was her grandkids.

  Jeri is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dwayne; her children, Tobie (Kate), Chad (Rachel), Casey (Robert) Green, and Chris (Jaime); her six dear grandchildren, Jayna, Jasen, Nathan, Ethan, Noah, and Annabel; her mother, Donna Bergner; three brothers; three sisters; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

  Jeri was preceded in death by her father, Lyle.
