Carolyn D. Simmons

—    Carolyn Delphine Simmons, age 70, of North Mankato, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at her residence.

  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2012, at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato.  Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Monday at Northview.  Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.

  Carolyn was born on January 18, 1942, in Mahnomen to Harry and Delphine (Tibodeau) Mischke.  She attended school in Waubun.  Carolyn was united in marriage to Cecil Simmons on November 21, 1964, in Mankato.  She was employed as a dietician at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital and also ran a Day Care in her home for 13 years.  Carolyn also was employed with Carlson Craft for 13 years before her retirement.  She was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Carolyn enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, bowling, watching soap operas, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.

  Carolyn is survived by her husband, Cecil of North Mankato; daughter, Brenda Simmons of North Mankato; son, Bradley (Kerri) Simmons of Mankato; three grandchildren, Chase Simmons, Leah Simmons, and Ty King; five siblings, Eleanor Startwell of Arizona, Marilyn (James) Jordan of Detroit Lakes, Gladys (Jerome) Trapp of Mahnomen, Laurence (Esmi) Mischke of California, and Henry Skip Mischke of Windom; also many nieces and nephews.

  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elaine Nichols and Dorothy Horton; and a brother, Richard Mischke.
