Viona "Pip" Holtz

— Viona "Pip" Holtz, age 91, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at home surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, with visitation from 12 p.m. (noon)  to 2 p.m. at St. Johns' Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Pastor Matthew Grunewald officiating.  Burial will be at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair.

  Viona was born May 27, 1921, to Arthur and Martha (Tischer) Sohre in Good Thunder. She was united in marriage on Aug. 28, 1953, to Henry Holtz. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Viona was a homemaker.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden, baking and spending time with her family.

  She is survived by children, Larry (Julie) Holtz and Connie Depuydt, all of St. Clair; five grandchildren, Daniel and Kimberly Depuydt, Kristin, Andria and Matthew Holtz; one sister Elverna (Elmer) Schimmele; brothers, Elmer (Lela) Sohre, Leroy (Arla) Sohre and Glen (Marianne) Sohre, all of Good Thunder; and many nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents; brothers, Lester, Merlin, and an infant brother; and son-in-law Roger Depuydt.
