David Don McColley

— David Don McColley, age 75, of Waseca, died on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at St. Marys' Hospital in Rochester.

  Born on May 25, 1937, in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Grant and Freda (Haushahn) McColley.  He attended rural Waseca County School District #22 and Waseca Public Schools before transferring to the Southern School of Agriculture where he graduated in 1955.  He also attended the University of Minnesota.

  Dave married Virginia Bickell on September 1, 1956, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church.  In August of 1956 Dave began working in the component division of the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca.  He continued working there until his retirement in June of 1999.  Dave enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, reading, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church.

  He is survived by six children, Diane (Peter) Rohde of Burnsville, Debbie (Terry) Field of Pelican Rapids, Karen (Mark) Wilker of Waseca, Kevin McColley of Pinewood, Dan McColley of Pinewood, and Cheryl (Lanny) Viegut of Green Bay, WI; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters, Lorna (Roger) Larson of Waseca and Judy (Jim) Harlicker of Owatonna; three brothers, Lyle (Kathy) McColley of Milton, FL, Duane (Barb) McColley of Owatonna, and Cliff (Linda) McColley of Murray, KY; and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four brothers.

  Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Friday, December 14, 2012, from 4-8 P.M. and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.

  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Jon Schultz officiating.  Burial will follow at Owatonna Memorial Gardens.
