Milton Bathke

—      Milton Bathke, age 62, of Chanhassen, MN. Milt left us for his new Heavenly home on Monday, October 15, 2012    after fighting the cancerous brain tumor that was discovered in February 2012.   

  He grew up on the family farm near Waseca, MN, attending the local schools and graduating from the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca. He then attended Westmar College, LeMars, IA for 2 years transferring to the U of M to earn his degree in Bio-Chemistry.

  After graduation, Milt entered the Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX, serving as an instructor for the Chaparral Missile Program. He was honorably discharged in 1973, and then became employed at Kallestad Laboratories which progressed to become Beckman Coulter in Chaska, MN.

He was Technical Operations Manager and his contributions to the company were many.

  Milt had many hobbies including photography,   fishing trips to Canada, ice fishing in winter, and black powder hunting of turkey and deer in both South Dakota and Minnesota. When he wasn't out enjoying nature he was bowling, playing softball and organizing a    volleyball team which won many   trophies in local tournaments.   

  Through the years Milt was known for his firm handshake, his smile, his mustache and his commitment to Jesus as his Savior. He joined the Navigators while in the Army and was a faithful member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Waseca, MN. He taught Sunday School was a council member, usher, represented the church at annual conferences and served where needed.

  Milt is survived by 2 sisters, LaVerta of Faribault, MN, and Syvilla and husband George of Center, TX; 2 nephews, Phil and Heather and family of Alice, TX, Tyrone and Mae of Alameda, CA,            1 niece, Amber and Salavador and family of Parker, CO; and many other relatives and friends.

  There will be a private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial service    11 AM Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca, MN.

  Visitation one hour prior to service.
