Mary Ruth Weldon

—   Mary Ruth Weldon, 85 of Belle Plaine died on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the mass from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home. Fr. Thomas Joseph, officiating.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

  Mrs. Mary Ruth Weldon was born on July 13, 1926 to Connie and Dorothy (Connelly) Kilduff in Le Sueur Co., Minnesota.  She graduated from Le Center High in 1944.  She went to work at Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis until 1948 when she married Donald Weldon at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas, Minnesota.  She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother who was devoted to her family.  She volunteered at Belle Plaine Lutheran Home and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.

  She was active in Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church.  She enjoyed playing cards, square dancing, sewing, and baking Christmas cookies with the family. She loved her children and grandchildren.  Mrs. Weldon is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her daughter Shelly Maurer her parents Connie and Dorothy Kilduff, brothers; Thomas, O'Brien, Ray and Jay.

  She is survived by her children: Brendan (Nancy) Weldon of Belle Plaine, Susie (Jim) Anderson of Apple Valley, Julie (Jim) Ertz of Eagan, and Carolyn (Jeff) Smith of Chanhassen, son-in-law: Jerry (Mary) Maurer of Carlton 10 grandchildren: Amy (Kris) Mortenson, Elizabeth (Chad) Leister, Dan Weldon, Matt (Desiree) Weldon, Jeff Maurer, Collin Maurer, Tom Cooper, Kelly Cooper, Cole Smith, Courtney Smith great grandchildren: Makenna and Carter Leister sisters: Doty Ann Schindler, Marjorie (Allie) Prochaska and sisters-in-law: Elaine Kilduff, Katie Kilduff, Jeanette Kilduff and Joyce Weldon.
