Michael 'Curly' Harrington

—   Michael "Curly" Harrington, 67, of Jordan, died March 14, 2013, in his home.

  Born in Springfield, MN, August 27, 1945 to Don & Jenny Harrington. Graduated from Loyola High School in Mankato, MN, received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Mankato State University. He taught physical education and coached boys basketball at Cleveland Schools for 9 years and at Jordan Schools from 1980-2002. He was active in the Jordan Lions, St. Johns Catholic Church and volunteered with the Jordan Foodshelf. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting & fishing, the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Celtics, Twins and the Minnesota Gophers. He was known for his running, sense of humor and smile.

  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathie; sons, Kevin (Jennifer) of Victoria, Jamie (Dana) of Montevideo; daughter, Beth Ann of Savage; grandchildren, Liam and Maggie, MaKena, and baby due in April; brothers, David (Sandy) of Anchorage, AK, Tom (LaVonne) of Janesville, MN, John (Judy) of Mankato; sister, Trisha of Mankato; nieces, Jennifer (John), Jena; nephews, Wayne (Terra) and Michael.

  Visitation 3-6 PM Sunday at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan. and one hour prior to Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan, MN. Interment Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan. Memorials to Northfield Hospice or Special Olympics.
