—    Robyn Lee Schmidt, age 55, of Mankato died, Friday, July 6, 2012 Pathstone Living in

Mankato after suffering from frontal temporal dementia for many years.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday at church. Memorials may be given to the Mayo    Clinic Health System-Hospice or an organization of the donors choice. Landkamer Johnson Boman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 Robyn was born October 16, 1956 to Robert J. and LaVona (Guentzel) Schmidt in Mankato. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1975 and Mankato State University in 1979 with a degree in education. She received her masters degree from St. Mary's College.  Robyn taught 3rd and 5th grade at Arlington-Green Isle Public Schools and later taught special education until the end of her teaching career.  Robyn taught in Arlington for 23 years until moving to Mankato in 2009 to be near family due to her illness.  She was active in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Arlington and loved to teach the children. Not only was Robyn a sincere and devoted teacher, but also a generous, independent, and loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed reading, movies, and her dog, Abby. Robyn lived by her faith and loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

 Robyn is survived by her mother, LaVona Schmidt of Mankato; four siblings, Sheila (Russ) DeVos of Lakeville, Gary (Vicki) Schmidt of Madison Lake, Sheryl Redding of Mankato, and Troy (Melanie) Schmidt of Rochester; eleven nieces and nephews; five great-nephews; and many friends.

 Robyn was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
