Robert 'Bob' F. Tiegs

—   Robert (Bob) F. Tiegs, age 79 of Henderson, MN passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8th , at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henderson. Reverend Jerry Berger will officiate. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to mass time at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.

  Bob was born on March 14, 1933 in Tyrone Twp., Le Sueur County.  He was the son of Albert and Marie (Laabs) Tiegs. He grew up and attended country school in Tyrone Twp., and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1951.  He entered the United States Air Force in 1952 and after returning home married his high school sweetheart, Frances Byrne on October 23, 1954. They farmed until 1972 then moved to Henderson. They were blessed with five children. Bob enjoyed reading western novels, fishing, and spending time with his family.

  Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Fran; children Terence (Cindy) Tiegs of Foley, MN, Kathleen (Timothy) Thomas of Starbuck, MN, Tamara (Leigh) Hart of Eden Prairie, MN, and Roberta (Jeffrey) Thomas of Cannon Falls, MN.   Twenty grandchildren; Sarah (Josh) Cornelius, Susan (Brett) Davis, Nancy (Matt) Baird, Miles, Josiah, Eli, Ezra, Rosalyn and James Tiegs; Tiffany (Jack) Dolalie, Taylor, Isaac, Marshall and Courtney Thomas;  Jack, Alexandra and Emmy Hart;  Ciara (Ben) Tucker, Seth (Allison) Thomas, Ryan Thomas; and eleven great-grandchildren; Isaac, Verity, Warren, Cody, Orrin, Evan, Andrew, William, Elliot, Thomas and Grace. Siblings, Erna Dressel of Le Sueur, Raymond Tiegs of Belle Plaine and Shirley Jaquith of Aliso Viego, California.

He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas; parents; brothers, Harold and Norris and sister, Melinda Schmid.
