Mary Ann Pettit - Menken

   Mary Ann Pettit - Menken, age 67, of Mankato, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

  Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013, at Northview  North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. David Laughlin officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at Northview -  North Mankato Mortuary.

  Mary Ann was born June 17, 1945, to Harvey and Dorothy (Claridge) Freundl in Mankato, Minnesota. She attended Mankato High School and graduated from Waseca High School. Mary Ann married James Pettit Sr. they had three children and later divorced. She attended vo-tech school and earned a degree in nursing and accounting. Mary Ann was married to and then divorced to James Starrett who now is deceased. She was married Gene Menken, he died in 2001. Mary Ann was employed by Carlson Craft, Mankato Lutheran Home, St. Peter Mobile Home, and for over 20 years at Walmart in Mankato.

  Mary Ann enjoyed baking, making candy and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be greatly missed.

  She is survived by her two sons, Jim Pettit of Mankato, Ross (Betsy) Pettit of Kasota; four grandchildren, James and Kelsi Pettit, Bryce and Cole Pettit; mother, Dorothy Freundl in Mankato; five sisters, Judy Danberry of Nicollet, Theresa Chatleain of North Mankato, Helen (Gerald) Myking of North Mankato, Nina (Tom) Klingel of Mankato, Donna Freundl of Eagle Lake. Menken stepchildren, Gina, Kimberly, and Shane; Starrett stepchildren, Daniel, Steven, Melissa, Sheila.

  Preceded in death by her father, Harvey; daughter, Lori Pettit; husband, Gene Menken; sister, Betty Homer; Starrett stepchildren, Carey and Michelle.
