Scott Douglas Volk

—   Scott Douglas Volk, 50, Mankato, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System- Mankato surrounded by his family.  Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m.  1:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, at Woodland Hills Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Morison  Ario VFW.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

  Scott was born February 9, 1962 in Mankato to Lawrence and Beulah (Larson) Volk.  Scott was united in marriage to Shelly Willaert December 14, 1984 in Mankato, the two later divorced.  He worked as a truck driver for Shafer Contracting for many years.  In his free time he enjoyed go-kart racing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

  He is survived by fiance, Kym Olson of Mankato; sons, Shawn Volk of Mankato and Chad (Nicole) Volk of Good Thunder; daughter Michelle (Brandon) Wendt of North Mankato; step daughter Brandee Olson of Mankato; grandchildren, Morgan Wendt, Dustin and Autumn Volk; brothers, Ron (Deb) Volk of Madison Lake, Jeff (Lavonne) Volk of Mankato, and Jeremy Volk of Montgomery; sisters, Diane Volk of Mankato and Judy (Steve) Harman of St. Peter; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Keith Bunde, Robert Mason, and Darrell Torgerson all of Mankato.

  Scott is preceded in death by his parents.
