Sister M. Nora Eggert, SSND

—   Sister M. Nora Eggert, SSND, 92, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Good Counsel, Mankato. Her Funeral Mass is Tuesday, August 21, 10:30 a.m. in Good Counsel Chapel.  Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at Good Counsel, with 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service, and one hour before services Tuesday.  Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

  Sister Nora (Margaret Eggert) was born in Silver Lake in 1920 to Frank and Catherine (Kacmarek) Eggert.  She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1937 and professed first vows in 1940.  She served first as a home service sister and then an elementary teacher.  In the Mankato area, she taught at All Saints, Madison Lake (1960-61) and SS. Peter & Paul (1979-81).  In addition, she tutored many summers in the Good Counsel Learning Center.

  She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families, and her sisters in community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and five brothers.
