Joyce E. Dodge

—  Joyce E. Dodge, age 92, of St. James, MN, died on November 23, 2012, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Saint James.

  Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Friday, November 30, 2012, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and resumes at church, one hour before the funeral.

  Funeral Services will be 10:30 am at Augustana Lutheran Church, St. James on Saturday, December 1, 2012, Rev. Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner officiating.

  Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. James.

   Joyce Ethelyn Thulien was born January 13, 1920, in Saint James to Ernest and Edna (Peterson) Thulien. She graduated from St. James High School. On September 21, 1941, she married Noel Amos Dodge at Augustana Lutheran Church. She worked with her husband at their sewing machine and appliance store, Noel's Service. As an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Joyce served as President of the Ladies' Aid, was a member of WELCA, was a counselor for the Luther League youth group, taught Sunday School, played the organ, and sang in the church choir and with the Miriam Singers.  Music was definitely her passion!  She also enjoyed reading and sewing.

  Joyce is survived by son, Noel "Nick" Dodge, Jr., Fort Worth, TX, grandsons: Troy and Bill (Barbara) Dodge, step-grandsons: Shane Nicastro and Nathan Bosdet, great-grandsons: Peter and Griffin Dodge, step-great-grandchildren, Mahogany, Unity, and Wintr Nicastro; brother-in-law, Harold Lutz, Minnetonka, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband, Noel, daughter-in-law, Marlaina Weisl-Dodge, sisters: Alice (Bob) Chinberg, Marcella (Howard W. Nelson, Oliver H. Peterson) Nelson-Peterson, Avis (Dr.William) Wallick, and, Elizabeth "Betty" Lutz.
