Norine Roesler

—   Norine Roesler, age 86 of Waseca died peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

  Born on February 3, 1926 in Owatonna, Minnesota she was the daughter of Herbert and Daisy (Dezell) Schauer.  Norine graduated from Waseca High School in 1945.  She continued her education graduating from Wells Teacher Training Dept. in 1946 and she also went on to attend Mankato Teachers College.  She taught in rural Waseca County Schools for 10 years.  She later worked at Hansel and Gretel Nursery School and pre-school education at Hartley Elementary.  Norine married her high school sweetheart, Emerson Roesler on June 24, 1949 in the Methodist Church.  She was a fulltime wife and mother.  Norine enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends.  They wintered in Texas for seven years.  Norine enjoyed collecting Fostoria, spoons, and plates from different places they traveled.

  Norine was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca where she was active with the ladies groups and Circle.  She taught Sunday School, Bible School, Release Time, and served on various church committees for many years.

  She is survived by two sons, Craig (Conna) Roesler and their children, Benjamin and Colette; Kevin (Diane) Roesler and their children, Alanna and Alex all of Waseca.  She is also survived by one sister, Lorna (Lou) Mansfield of Santee, CA; half brother, Don Schauer of Waseca; sister-in-law, Shirley Schauer of Waseca; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emerson; one brother, Merlyn; and one sister, Leoma Doherty.

  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Jon Schultz officiating.  Burial will be at Woodville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at church.  Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is handling arrangements.  www.dennisfuneralhomes.com
