Joan Janzen

— Joan Janzen, 82, went to be with her Lord late Monday, July 23, 2012 in Chaska MN. Visitation with family will occur Friday 6-8 pm at Crossview Covenant Church North Mankato. The memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 28, at Excelsior Covenant Church, Excelsior MN, with a time of visiting with family one hour prior to the service.

  Joan was born June 8, 1930 on a farm near St Croix Falls WI. She was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years in Mankato teaching mostly fifth and sixth graders. She was married to Don Robinson and they had four children. After being divorced for many years, she met and married Joseph Janzen. Together they created a loving home in Chaska and had 14 years of adventure together.

  Joan actively volunteered in her community and church, serving on various committees and short-term mission trips. She enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, singing, playing the piano and traveling with her family on various domestic and international trips.  She was a loving grandmother and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

  Joan is survived by husband Joe, children Terry (Connie), Sheri, Debra and Rick (Deanne), five grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob.

  Memorials preferred to the Excelsior Covenant Church and Riverview Home Care and Hospice.
