— Mankato resident, Drew Schmidt, age 51, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato.
Drew was born, April 25, 1958 in Mankato to C. Douglas and Lucille (Severns) Schmidt. He graduated from Mankato East High School in 1976. He married Jan Anderson. The couple later divorced and he married Tamara Widboom and they also later divorced. Drew enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Schmidt of Mankato; sons, Cory Schmidt of Mankato, Troy Schmidt of Sacramento, CA, Justin Burtzel of Belle Plaine, MN, Matt Burtzel of Mankato; daughter, Erin Schmidt of Mankato; grandchildren, Joshua, Zaiden and Kendall; brothers, Greg (Nina) Schmidt of Mankato, Wayne (Diana) Schmidt of North Mankato, Jeff (Wendy) Schmidt of Mankato, Alan (Della) Schmidt of Winona; sisters, Suzanne Schmidt of Washington, Sharon Mulenburg (Wayne) of Mankato, Linda Dubke (Joe) of Fairmont, Nancy Hayes of Eagan, Janis “Gigi” Wolfe (Dan) of Pequot Lakes, Julie Bohnert (Rod) of Mankato; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his 2nd wife, Tamara.
