Robert George Tetzloff, age 81 of Elysian, died at his home on Friday, November 16, 2012.
Born in Blue Earth County on August 27, 1931, Robert was the son of George and Luella (Rux) Tetzloff. As a young man he attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School and Janesville High School, and later attended Mankato State University. Robert served in the United States Army from February 1952 until his honorable discharge in January 1954. On August 7, 1954 he was married to Shirley Schultz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Over the years he was employed at E.F. Johnson in Waseca and King Company in Owatonna. He retired in 1995 from Cybex. After retirement he worked part-time at Associated Lumber and James Brothers Construction. Bob was a member of Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Janesville where he loved golfing with his friends. He enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ, and also loved pontooning with his family on Lake Francis. He was a fisherman who considered his greatest catch to be his family. He enjoyed rooting for the home teams, supporting the American Legion, and spoiling his great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his comedic one-liners, and would just say, Dang the luck about his recent passing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 311 in Elysian, the Waseca VFW, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.
Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley of Elysian; two daughters, Brenda (Ken) DeCramer of Rochester, and Sheila (Jon) Jackson of Frazee; three grandchildren, Matt Gibart and his special friend Katie Alery, Kris (Sarah) Gibart; and Katie Reinhart; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Tristan; two sisters, Lavon Robeck of Janesville and Hazel (Skip) Endersbe of Mora; one brother, Dave (Barb) Tetzloff of Edina; two brothers-in-law, Vince Schultz of Waseca and Ray (Lina) Schultz of CA; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Tollefson of New Richland. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother-in-law, Dale Robeck, one sister-in-law, Mary Schultz; and two nephews, Jeff Robeck and Curtis Schultz.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. dennisfuneralhomes.com
