Philip Pemble

— Visitation will be held Sat., Sept. 11, at 10:30 a.m., prior to the 12 o’clock funeral service both held at Shepherd of the Hills, 802 Maple Grove Rd., Duluth. Pastor DeNoyer will conduct the service. Gravesite committal will be at Kelsey Riverside Cemetery following the processional. Range Funeral Home of Virginia is providing services.

Philip (Phil) Joseph Pemble of Kelsey, MN, passed away on Monday morning, Sept. 6th, 2010, upon arrival at the Solvay House (Duluth, MN).

He was born to Catherine (Weber) and Harry Pemble on June 13, 1944, in Mankato. He fought a long and brave battle with cancer for over 3 years. He attended school in Elysian-Waterville. Phil grew up on a farm in southern MN and never lost sight of his agricultural roots and values. He was the middle child with 10 siblings. Phil was employed since 1961 working for W. Hodgeman and Sons (Fairmont) until 1978, building roads throughout MN. He then continued his career working for Louis Leustek and Sons (Ely) until his retirement in 2006. He was a heavy equipment operator and superintendent working as a member for the local 49ers Union. He was united in marriage to Ardella (Ardie) Glaser on Aug. 28, 1965 in North Mankato. They later moved to Kelsey in June of 1977. Phil enjoyed spending time with family & friends, hobby farming, hunting, fishing, tractor shows, farm auctions and restoring old Allis Chalmers tractors. He was also a long time member of the Shepherd of the Hills Church (Duluth).

He was survived by his wife Ardie of Kelsey; and also his three sons, Theodore (Ted) (Coral) of Aurora, Trent (Jessica) of St Bonifacius, Travis of Floodwood. Phil had 4 grandchildren which he referred to as his prince and princesses; Colton & Lily of St Boni and Alexis (Lexi) & River of Aurora. Phil was also survived by his siblings: Mary Jo (Bill) Nikoley of Elysian, Harold (Ginger) of Watertown, WI, Victoria Johnson of St. Peter, Harriet Hager of Mankato, Charolette Blaschko of Le Center, Mark of Silver Bay, James (Sandy) of Waterville and Karen (Tom) Gohla of Mankato; and by his father-in-law Norbert Glaser of St. Clair.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Catherine Pemble, his brothers David of Albany and Larry of Waterville, and his mother-in-law Ardella Glaser of St. Clair.
