Marjorie James Thomas

—  Marjorie James Thomas, 96, died on the 8th day, February.

  Mrs. Thomas graduated from Thornton Iowa High School in 1933.  She attended Mason City Junior College and received her Bachelors degree from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1937.

   She and Morgan Thomas were married on June 2, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa.  Mrs. Thomas is survived by two married children:  James (Jay) and his wife Vicky of Duluth, MN, and Richard (Dick) and his wife Jean of St. Cloud, MN.

  She is also survived by three grandchildren:  Bryan of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth of St. Louis, MO, Jessica of Milwaukee, WI, and two great grandchildren.

  Dr. and Mrs. Thomas moved to Mankato in February 1953.  Mrs. Thomas taught high school English and dramatics at Wilson Campus School.

    She was active in various organizations including: Thursday Reading, Literary Club, Chapter B.E. PEO, Faculty Wives and Presbyterian Women.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

 Mrs. Thomas enjoyed bridge, reading, knitting and travel.

  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, at the First Presbyterian Church of Mankato.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marjorie and Morgan Thomas Scholarship at the MSU Foundation or First Presbyterian Church.
