Eileen M. Strobel

—   Eileen Marguerite Strobel, age 96, of Mankato, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

  Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato.  Visitation will be held one hour before service at church on Saturday.  Memorials may be given to Hilltop United Methodist Church.  Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

  Eileen Marguerite was born September 28, 1915 to Herbert Francis and Ellen E. (Swenson) Revier in Northfield.  On November 29, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Strobel in Northfield.  Eileen and Lawrence lived in Superior, WI and Oak Park, IL. while Lawrence worked for the railroad.  After retirement, they moved to Mankato.  She was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church and the Rebbekkah Lodge.  She enjoyed playing bridge, 500, cooking and entertaining, and was famous for her peanut brittle.

  Eileen is survived by her sister, Lorraine Lundin of Mankato; sister-in-law, Grace Revier of Delano, MN; many nieces and nephews, including, Skip and Pat Lundin of West Hurley, NY, Larry and Barbara Lundin of Kingston, MA, Lana and Dan Held of Elysian; and extended family.

  Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence on July 28, 2003; brothers, Leonard Revier and Roger Revier; sister, Marion Diedrick; and brothers-in-law, Roy Lundin and Jim Strobel.
