Robert "Bob" Brekke

— Robert "Bob" Brekke, 63, of North Mankato, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2013, surrounded by his family.

 Private family services will be held followed by a Celebration of Bob's Life at Mum's the Word on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 1-4 pm for all who loved him to share stories and memories.  Bob's granddaughter Lexi was the light of his life and had a very special place in his heart.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to contribute to her college education in honor of her grandpa.  Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

 Bob lived life to the fullest and enjoyed making everyone laugh with his sarcastic wit and awesome sense of humor.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, had a great love of music and the outdoors.  Along with his wife and friends, he spent a lot of time on his motorcycle taking trips to very random places just for the photo ops.  He was a farm boy at heart, enjoyed his gardening and tinkering in the garage as a weekend mechanic.  He always had a shine to his eye, but the birth of his Granddaughter added the sparkle.  He considered his friends to be extended family and will be missed by so many.

 Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Chris; two daughters, Emily Brekke (John Honetschlager), Melinda (Brian and his daughter, Jaydan Stephan) Wells; granddaughter, Lexi Honetschlager; siblings: Bonnie (Gerry) Guttormson, Mike (Robin) Brekke and Linda Brekke; nieces, nephews and his beloved fur babies, Simon and Bear.
