Julitta Preuhs

—   Julitta "Jul" C. Preuhs, age 90 of Cottage Grove, formerly of LeSueur, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.  Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30 at St. Markus Catholic Church in Clear Lake, MN.  Fr. Virgil Helmin will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.

  Interment will be in St. Markus Cemetery in Clear Lake at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to "Food for the Poor", her favorite charity.

  Julitta was born on March 5, 1922 to Lawrence and Henrietta (Kilian) Juenemann in Clear Lake.  She graduated from Clear Lake High School.  She married Donald Plaisance on October 7, 1947 in Clear Lake and they lived in Owatonna and Cleveland, MN.  He died in 1954.  She married Clarence Preuhs on December 14, 1973 in Cleveland, MN and they lived on the Preuhs family farm in Tyrone Township.  He died in 1999.  She lived in LeSueur at Hillside Court and moved to Cottage Grove in 2009.  Jul was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Thomas Church where she enjoyed quilting with the C.W.W.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and 500.  She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and watching birds.

  Julitta is survived by her children, Linda Plaisance of Bloomington, Celeste (Bob) Olson of Big River, CA, Mari (Kevin) Banz of Cottage Grove and Lori (Dennis) Curran of Eden Prairie; step-children, Richard (Debbie) Preuhs of Eagle River, WI, David (Carol) Preuhs of LeCenter, Elroy (Michelle) Preuhs of Imperial, MO and Barbara Almich of Excelsior; sister, Ramona (Donald) Braun of Clear Lake and brother, Lawrence (Marlene) Juenemann of Lakeville, MN.  Grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her husbands and by two sisters, Leonella Andresen and Lorraine Hentges.
