   Norbert Arndt, 85, of North Mankato and formerly of Nicollet, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at his home.

  Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, February 9, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland with Pastor Wayne Bernau officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Hills Cemetery in Mankato.

  Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Saturday.

  Norbert is survived by his wife, Joyce Arndt of North Mankato; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Paul Bode of Henning, Laurie and Marvin Krohn of Nicollet; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Loretta Arndt, William and Mitzi Arndt, all of Ottertail; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  Norbert George Carl Arndt was born May 16, 1927 in New Ulm to Fred and Mary (Lange) Arndt. He was united in marriage to Joyce Strusz on September 9, 1948, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Mankato. After marriage they farmed in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County. He attended Mankato Area Vo Tech in Mankato and graduated with a small engine repair degree in 1970.

 Norbert enjoyed fishing, woodworking, motorcycling, playing cards, model airplanes and lawn mowing. He especially loved spending time with family and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

    In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland, Mankato Hospice, or to the donor's choice.
