Benjamin Edward Wolske

—   Benjamin Edward Wolske, age 61, of Waseca, died on Thursday, November 8, 2012, in rural Waseca County.

  Born on June 6, 1951, in Cass Lake, MN, he was the son of Benjamin, Sr. and Ardis (Carlson) Wolske.  Growing up, Benjamin attended school in the Federal Dam, MN, area.  After his schooling, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  Following his honorable discharge, Benjamin married Theresa Gretz on July 5, 1972, in Manitou Springs, CO.  After their wedding they lived in Mankato for a few years before moving to the Pemberton area where they lived for about 30 years.  During that time, he worked for Honeymead in Mankato for about 10 years, and later worked as an over the road trucker for another 20 years, retiring in 2007.  Benjamin enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of the American Legion in Mankato, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Minnesota American Legion.

   Benjamin is survived by his wife, Theresa of Waseca; three children, Edward (Shannon) Wolske of Tracy, Heather (Cory) Oachs of Mapleton, and Matthew (Amanda) Wolske of Waseca; eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Gabriel, Joshua, and Solomon Wolske, Hailey, Brooke, and Kayla Oachs, and Keera Wolske.  He is also survived by five sisters, Alice Moats of Champlain, MN, Marla (Dave) Harmon of MT, Carol (Larry) Kloehn of Boy River, MN, Debra (Nick) Hanner of Newport, MN, and Wendy (Chuck) Schmidt of Richardson, ND.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Yvonne Murphy and Diane Olson.

  Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Rev. Marty Schaefer officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Federal Dam, MN, at a later date.  Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is handling the arrangements.
