Robert Charles George, age 85 of Mankato, died on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Keystone Communities.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Joseph LoJacono officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Robert was born December 17, 1926, to Joseph and Mary (Kamas) George in Mankato. He attended school in Mankato. He served his country in WWII with the Army from 1945-1946. Robert was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Mann in Mankato on July 2, 1956. He worked for several companies throughout Minnesota as a heavy equipment operator and was a lifelong resident of Mankato. Robert was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his granddaughters.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Louise (Jeff) Dutler of Mankato; son, Noel George of La Quinta, CA; four granddaughters, Alyssa George, Alexandra Dutler, Kathryn Dutler, and Elizabeth Dutler; along with many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jacquelyn; three sisters and four brothers.
