Lorraine Fruth, 85, of Boone, Iowa, and formerly of Saint Peter, died October 9, 2012.
Lorraine was born in Neva Star, Wisconsin, on August 7, 1927, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Traffis) Lorge.
She attended Mankato State University in Minnesota where she graduated in 1950.
On July 15, 1952, Lorraine married Vincent Fruth at Saint Peter, Minnesota.
She was a school teacher and taught in Oceanside, California, Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and Saint Peter, Minnesota. The couple moved to Boone in 1986.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Christine Otto, and a sister Kathleen Larson.
Lorraine is survived by a daughter Catherine Johnson and husband Rick of Nevada, Iowa; a brother Gerald Lorge of Fort Mohave, Arizona, a sister Mary Gronholz of Nicollet, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone, Iowa, from 4 until 8 p.m.
A Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. The family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at the funeral chapel Friday at 4 p.m.
Following the visitation, her body will be cremated and a Funeral Mass and burial will be in Saint Peter, Minnesota, at a later date.
