Hazel L. "Rusty" Griffith

— North Mankato resident, Hazel L. "Rusty" Griffith, 84, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Oak Terrace in North Mankato.  Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato with Rev. Roger Knepprath, officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, mother would like donations to go to the Hospice program.

  Hazel was born February 29, 1928, in Mankato, MN, to Arthur and Mary (Reible) Zuhlsdorf.  She grew up and attended school in Mankato. On November 20, 1946, she married Clayton Griffith in Mankato.  Hazel worked as a seamstress and also enjoyed baking and playing bingo.  She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and VFW Post 950.

  Hazel is survived by son, Dennis (Loretta) Griffith of Redding, CA; daughters, Christine Griffith of North Mankato, Cindy Griffith (special friend, Dale) of Vallejo, CA, Connie Murphy (Pat) of North Mankato, Colleen English (Mike) of St. Peter; brother, Arthur (Nadine) Zuhlsdorf; sister, Sylvia Pettis; grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy, of North Mankato Michael Griffith of Virginia Beach, VA, Paul (Angela) Murphy of Clarksville, TN; great grandchildren, Bailey Cole Murphy of North Mankato and Banks Orion Murphy, of Clarksville, TN; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death her parents; sisters, Annabell Luegge and Lucille Habeger, brother in laws, Lavern Lurth,  Elwood Habeger and Wayne Pettis ; many aunts and uncles.
