Margaret “Maggie” Mae Lewis, age 75 of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Debbie King Quale officiating. Burial service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation or the donor’s choice.
Maggie was born August 16, 1934, to Edgar and Dorothy (Yahnke) Fleming in Garden City, MN. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1952. Maggie was united in marriage to Danny Lewis on April 1, 1955 in Mankato. She was employed by Lake Crystal Public Schools in food service for 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal, where she sang in the church choir. Margaret was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, and feeding her birds in the backyard.
She is survived by husband, Danny; son Paul (Kathy) Lewis, of Kasson, MN; granddaughter, Megan Lewis; sisters, Louise Ponson of rural Nicollet, Janet (Bud) Ringeisen of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Burton (Mary) Fleming of Indiana; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ervin and Herb.
