    Archie T. Kimpe, age 87, of Mankato, died peacefully in the presence of family on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Hillcrest Health Care Center. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and 1 hour before services at the church. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Blood donations or contributions are preferred to your local blood bank in

Archie's name.

  Archie Theophil Kimpe was born July 5, 1925, in Ghent, MN, to Matthew and Lavina (DeBaere) Kimpe.  After graduating high school in Ghent, MN, he served in the US Navy from December 1, 1944 until August 7, 1946.  In 1948 he married Mary Leona Vermeersch in Ghent, MN. She died in 1979. On June 18, 1983, he married Audrey Keith Wilson in Mankato, who passed in 1988.  Archie worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a depot agent, telegrapher and after retiring as an independent computer consultant.  In his leisure time he enjoyed amateur radio, computers, fishing and researching his Dutch/Belgian heritage.  He was a member of the Mankato Area Radio Club and the YMCA.  Archie was an avid volunteer helping Handi-hams, novice ham radio students, and seniors who needed help with computers.

  He is survived by daughters, Marsha Kimpe of Litchfield, MN, Rhonda Kimpe of St. Louis Park, MN; stepdaughters, Diane Wilson Arneson of Evansville, IN, Nancy Wilson Ankeny of St. Paul, MN; stepson, Peter Wilson of Thief River Falls, MN; step grandchildren, Naomi Wilson Rauch, Natalie Wilson Postel, Nicole and Jeff Ankeny, Erik Arneson; 6 step great grandchildren; special

friends, Colleen Harris of Green Valley, AZ and Brenda Olson of Cottonwood, MN.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerome and Ray Kimpe; infant daughter, Roberta Jean; wives Mary and Audrey.
