Grace L. Jewison

—   Grace L. Jewison, age 92 of rural Janesville, died on Friday, July 13, 2012 at her home in Janesville Township.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville with Fr. Matthew Fasnacht, Celebrant.  Interment will be in the St. Ann Cemetery.

  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Thursday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Memorials preferred to the Holy Spirit Retreat Center in Janesville, or donors choice.

  Grace Louise was born November 29, 1919 in Cleveland Township, LeSueur County, Minnesota to Nicholas and Margaret (Simonett) Burns.  Grace graduated from Cleveland High School in 1937.  On June 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Clarence Edmund Jewison at Nativity Catholic Church in Cleveland.  Grace and Clarence raised their family on their Janesville Township farm north of Janesville.  Grace had a love for family and friends, especially the coffee group.  Her interests were gardening, working with the animals on the farm, and her love of reading which she passed down to all the children and grandchildren.  She was a longtime, faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church and her church circle.  Grace volunteered with the local school's PTA, Okaman Workers 4-H youth club, and Meals on Wheels.  She always encouraged her children to be persistent and to enjoy life.  She will be dearly missed!

  She is survived by her children, Ward Jewison of Minneapolis, Mary (Brandt) Pfeiffer of Minneapolis, Bryan Jewison of Janesville, Lynn (Leah) Jewison of Elysian, and Eileen (Mark) Varner of New Carrolton, MD; by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence in 1978, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
