Harriet I. Nehring

—   Harriet I. Nehring, 89, of Wells, MN, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Parkview Care Center in Wells.  

  Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, Pastor Kent Jensen officiating. Burial will be at Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, as well one hour prior to services at the church. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of the arrangements.

  Harriet was born October 25, 1922, in Walters, MN, to Helmer and Sena (Twedt) Slette. She married Clarence Nehring on September 7, 1945 in Walters. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran in Walters and graduated from Alden High School. Harriet was devoted to her faith and family, and will be remembered most for her integrity and her quietly efficient manner.

  Harriet is survived by her children, David of Cannon Falls, Ann of Blaine, Tim (Della) of Richland Center, WI, Mary of Wells, and Scott (Teresa) of Wells; grandchildren, Clint, Jesse (Kyana), Cody and Liberty;  great-grandsons Turner and Davis; sister-in-law Bea Slette; and many nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence in 1993; son, Dennis in 1968; and daughter, Joan in 2009; brother, Palmer Slette, her sisters-in-law Leona (Ludwig) Scherb, and Adeline (Truman) Shellen.
